It is important to know that with each state you visit, you should be aware of state rules and local regulations for panning gold. it is also standard practice to be responsible in your techniques and leaving the area as you found it.

Alabama

There is no guarantee of gold in any state or camp but here’s what we’ve found in Alabama!

  1. Alabama Gold Camp: Located in Lineville, Alabama, this camp offers gold panning, sluicing, and dredging opportunities on their property. They also have RV and tent camping options available.
  2. Gold in Coosa County: The Coosa River in Coosa County is a popular spot for gold panning. There are several access points along the river where you can try your luck.
  3. Blue Creek: This creek, located in the Talladega National Forest, is known to have gold deposits. However, be aware that some areas are off-limits due to conservation efforts.
  4. Chilton County Gold: Gold has been found in Chilton County, particularly in the Mulberry Creek area. This is a popular spot for panning and sluicing.

Alaska
